MEDICAL / NON- MEDICAL

To take up the career  in Medical Science ,The students have to take Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their main subjects and those  who have keen  interest in Biology can make a Career in Medical Field and for that, they can opt for courses like:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
  • BDS (Bachelor of Dental surgery)
  • BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery
  • Physician
  • Optometrists
  • Dental Surgeon
  • Pharmacists
  • Nursing

For Career in Engineering domain, students have to take Maths, Physics and Chemistry as their main subjects in class XII.  In engineering, there are various choices for further specialization. The common specializations for a career in Engineering are:

Mechanical Engineering

Courses for Mechanical Engineering:

    • Diploma Course   Eligibility Criteria: Class 10  Duration: 3 years
    • BTech/BE Course Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)  Duration: 4 years
    • ME/MTech Course  Eligibility Criteria: BTech/BE Course  Duration: 2 years

CIVIL ENGINEERING

  • ME/MTech Course  Eligibility Criteria: BTech/BE Course Duration: 2 years

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING
Eligibility
There are a  different ways through which students can choose to become a Biomedical engineer; some of the common ones are listed below:

  • Candidates aspiring to become Biomedical Engineers can join a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech in BME) after completing high school.
  • Some institutes conduct entrance exam to grant admission to B.Tech BME programes.
  • B.Tech in any of the traditional engineering fields like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Chemical Engineering can also be done .
  • After completing  B.Tech, one can pursue postgraduate academic programme in biomedical engineering and become a biomedical engineer
  • Other  way of becoming a biomedical engineer is completing the B.Tech in any of the traditional engineering domains and then completing a postgraduate degree in Medical Technology.
  • Candidates from the medical background, who have completed their MBBS degree can also opt to become biomedical engineers by joining a postgraduate programme in Biomedical Engineering/ Medical Engineering/ Medical Technology.

Biomedical Engineers are Hired by as

  • Hospitals, clinics and healthcare centre for installation and upkeep of medical technology and equipment
  • As research and development field by pharmaceutical companies, medical research centres
  • Government regulatory agencies to monitor and implement modern technology in healthcare sector
  • Educational institutes as teachers/professors to teach the subject
  •  Design professionals, who can develop biomechanical components
  •  Supervisor and technology expert in healthcare centres and research laboratories advising on incorporation of new technology
  •  Marketing advisors and technical assistants in pharmaceutical companies

Bio-Medical Engineering

2 Marine Engineering
Eligibility
There are a few different ways through which students can choose to become a biomedical engineer; some of the common ones are listed below:

  • Candidates aspiring to become biomedical engineers can join a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech in BME) after completing their Class 12/10+2 examination. Some institutes also have an entrance exam to grant admission to B.Tech BME programmes. This is the most commonly adopted approach.
  • In case you are not sure about choosing Biomedical Engineering as your core domain after Class 12, you can do B.Tech in any of the traditional engineering fields like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Chemical Engineering. After completing your B.Tech, you can pursue postgraduate academic programme in biomedical engineering and become a biomedical engineer
  • Another popular way of becoming a biomedical engineer involves completing your B.Tech in any of the traditional engineering domains and then complete a postgraduate degree in medical technology.
