CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Investiture Ceremony 17th July '10
School organised the Investiture Ceremony to bestow the duties and responsibilities to the deserving students. The ceremony commenced with the distribution of saches and badges to the Head Boy and Head Girl followed by 4 House Captains of Tagore, Gandhi , Nehru and Patel respectively. Vice-Captains and prefects were also given their individuals duties. They were subjected the Oath whereby they swore to serve the school with complete honesty, sincerity and dedication.
   

Environment Rally

7th July '10

School organised the water conservation rally to sensitize the children regarding the importance of water, the most precious natural resources. The children (volunteer) holding the banners visited each class within the school premises and motivated the children to come forward and participate in the conservation of water. The children volunteers also chanted the slogans and encouraged everyone to have an eco – friendly approach towards saving the environment and emphasized that it is the only key for better survival.

   

FOUNDATION DAY

13th April '10

School celebrated its Founder's Day with full enthusiasm with the blessing showered by honorable Chairman Sir Mr. D.N. Arora. The occasion was marked in commemoration of its foundation which was laid 12 years back on April 13 th . Since then it has always been endeavoured to motivate everyone in the family of the Mount Abu to scale soaring heights. The celebrations initiated with offering prayers to the almighty God.

   

SPIC MACAY

12th April '10

School got the privilege to host the show organized by the Spic Macay an organization that works to promote the spirit of National Cultural Heritage of India . The renowed artists, Padamshree Rama Rao and Vanshree Rao performed the classical Kucchi Puri Dance and left the audience spellbound with their brilliant performance. The artist presented the various mythological sequences in this dance forms and encouraged the children to come forward for their contribution in spreading the age old culture worldwide. They guided the students about the tips that dedication, concentration and determination are the key factors of success in any field.

   

REPUBLIC DAY

26th January'10

Among the first few qualities that we try to inculcate in our students , patriotism is the foremost. Thus celebration of Republic Day had a double purpose behind it. The first of course is to commemorate this day with all the importance it carries and next is to create a sense of awareness, patriotism and pride for the country among our students through various cultural programmes .

   

LOHRI

13th January'10

School celebrated the Lohri Festival, an extremely auspicious day, with full zeal and zest. As Lohri signifies the fertility and spark of life, a bonfire was arranged and seasame, peanuts and popcorns were tossed in it. The children enjoyed the festival to the fullest with few foot tapping songs from Punjab.

   

ANNUAL DAY

22nd Dec '09

School has celebrated its Annual Day, AWSAR - 09 whereby a number of items like Ballet, Skit entertained the audience. The Chief Guest on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Mehta, Chief Secretary of Govt. of Delhi appreciated the students' effort and talked about the conservation of the resources which is the most important issue of concern in the present scenario. The eminent sports person Padamshree Mahabali Satpal Ji, Addl. Dir. Sports and Ms. Chitralekha Gurumurthy, Director Academic, CBSE presided over the show. In her speech Ms. Chitralekha Gurumurthy appreciated the students' performance and also highlighted on the need of the conservation of resources. The programme included the prize distribution ceremony by the hon'ble Chief Guest who gave away the trophies and medals to the students who showed their excellence in various fields. MATHS MIND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

10th Dec '09

Mount Abu hosted the Maths Mind for the students of Class IX and X to access their intellect and the winners are awarded with special cash prizes & trophies. The prize distribution ceremony was held at school whereby hon'ble Chief Guest Mr. Hukum Singh, Professor and Head of the Department Education in Science & Mathematics, the hon'ble Chairman Sir Sh. D.N.Arora and Madam Principal Mrs. Jyoti Arora felicitated the winners with prizes.

UDDAN

Every individual has a unique creativity and power of visualization and Mount Abu never lags behind in providing the platform to all to show the hidden talent. School organized 'Udaan' paint your imagination contest. Whereby all the members of the school family, students, teachers and class IV employees participated wholeheartedly to show their imagination. The Chief Guest Sh. Rishipal, DCP South-II and Shri D.N. Arora, School Chairman and other member of managing committee whole heartedly appreciated the noble effort and facilitated the winners of the competition.

ENGLISH WORKSHOP

11th Nov '09

To enrich the students with different aspects of English language and to make them trendy, School organized a two day workshop where eminent educationalist from the field of English teaching guided the students as well as the faculty members about how to develop a cognitive atmosphere for the learning process. Among the eminent guests were Ms. Neemila Sharma, EO, Directorate of Education, Mr. S.K. Gangal, Retd. EO of CBSE, Ms. Shefali Ray, CO-Author Oxford Publications, Mr. Manoranjan Sood, Benchmark and Mr. A.D. Bhatt resource person from the panel and Mr. Mathews Panamkat, Director Doon Public School interacted with the students of Board classes and laid stress on application of functional grammar, inculcation of reading habit, enhancement of learning skills, skills to improve reading habit and how to attempt the literature section.

SPIC MACAY

Diversified culture and tradition is the symbol of a country's rich past that embodies in itself the true love for the nation and helps it to spread the name far and wide and Spic MACAY is always a step ahead in doing so. Continuing the same trend, and to be a part of the same. School organized the Kathak presentation by renowned artist Ms. Rani Khannam who displayed the dance in the most exorbitant way thus igniting the passion for the rich culture of the nation. The children could grasp the vital points quite effectively and enjoyed the wonderful presentation by the dance maestro who thrilled everyone with her dancing feet & excellent skills.

HINDI DIWAS

17th Sept '09

To evoke the spirit of gratitude for the National language and a love for the motherland. School celebrated the Hindi Diwas and marked the day as the special one for all. A number of items like Doha recitation , Poem recitation , Debate and Quiz were held to commemorate the Hindi poets, authors who had laid the strong foundation of the national language and its literature. The children presented the Dohas & Poems in a excellent rhythms which showed their deep interest. Famous authors who played a vital contributing towards the globalization of the language were remembered by reciting their famous works in the field of literature. Children were guided about how the mother languages do play a vital role in the expression of ideas, emotions and sentiments.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

18th Aug '09

The school held its Independence Day on August 13, which also marked the celebration of Investiture Ceremony & Janamashtmi. A number of cultural programmes, speech were held to commorate the sacrifices of the martyrs, thus highlighting the effort they paid to make India , an Independent nation. To maintain the charisma of cultural heritage various reflections of Lord Krishna were depicted. Thus showing the path of eternal truth, happiness, victory and honesty for giving a realistic value to human life. The election of prefrectorial board including the head boy, head girl and all the deputies took place. All of them marched down confidently and swore to discharge their duties to the best of the ability.

ENVIRONMENT MONTH

30th July '09

Looking at the prime importance of the environment and to make the children aware about the consequences of any disturbance in the nature, School celebrated the Environment Month, dedicating the month of July towards the preservation of environment. To highlight its importance various competition like Debate, Poem recitation, Skit presentation, Poem composition were held. Tree plantation and rally were organized to spread the message among the masses that conservation of environment should be everyone's priority. Making our planet earth safe and secure should be our motive. Principal Mrs. Jyoti Arora took the initiative in the venture by planting the sapling thus providing the best example to show the spirit of protection. Children chanted slogans and participated in the rally in the adjoining areas of the school and emphasized on the vital role of the forest cover to minimize the effect of global warming. In an effort to spread the message to the lay man Nukkad Natak was organized at the prominent places like Netaji Subhash Place and Metro Walk. The show attracted the attention of the audience and got a great appreciation by one ad all.

CAREER FAIR

20th July '09

To open new vistas for the students and to e let them acquaint with the different career options School organised the career fair where in a number of reputed institutes like Singh Study Circle, Aakash Institute, Frankfinn Institute, Jet King, IIJT Infotech, Pinnacle Classes, Delhi Institute of Technology and Management, Resonance, Trinity Institute, Language International, Shree Chaitanya Institute, Institute of Apparel Management, Narayana etc. participated to aware the students regarding various career options they offer. A number of workshops were organized to help them encounter the specific problems like, adolescence, when and how to choose a career etc. A workshop on hospitality and travel management was held to help them know their visions vividly and opt accordingly. The aim of the fair was to broaden the outlook of the students and let them encounter their hesitation and overcome all their hindrances. The volunteers of various institutes guided the students about the details of their respective courses and solved their problems to let them come out of the dilemma, which is quite visible at the crucial stage of their life.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

5th May '09

In an effort to create a wave of sympathy and conservation towards the environment, School celebrated the Earth Day thus enlightening the students about the benefits of a pure and healthy environment. A number of events like Skit, Poem Recitation, Speech were held to motivate the children for the noble cause. Students participated in the program very enthusiastically and showed their serious concern about the value of preserving the mother planet. The children performed the skit creating an awareness as to how the planting of trees, preservation of animals and respecting the mother earth can make their future better and prosperous

LEARNING SESSION

Learning is a life long process that kindles the spark for better understanding and the students of Mount Abu Public School , leave any opportunity to make them better equipped with newer and advanced trends. In an effort to help the students learn more, the school organized a counseling session by Dr. T.P. Sasikumar who guided the students about various tips of comprehensive learning and memory retention techniques. The students were provided with a number of ways for the enhancement of the power of learning and motivated to perform better.

Children of classes I to V presented a dance depicting the tradition of North Indian culture. As Lohri celebrates the fertility and spark of life, a bonfire was arranged and seasame, peanuts and popcorns were tossed in it. The children enjoyed the festival to the fullest with few foot tapping songs from Punjab. The celebration concluded with the speech by Principal Mrs. Jyoti Arora whereby she guided the children about the significance of the extremely sacred and pious festival which spreads the message of oneness, while thanking the Almighty for a bountiful life on earth.
