School organised a Career Fair ‘Confluence -2012' whereby a number of educationist from different fields of education guided the children about the present scenario of education in the world across and how to overcome the dilemma that is faced after completing the basic education in school. The event began with the talks by speakers Ms. Upasana Kinra, Counsellor MAPS, Mr. Rohit Dhawan resoure person from Hindustan Times, Ms. Asha Nayyer from Times of India and Ms. Deepti for Chankaya Institute also took separate sessions with the students of class IX to XII and helped them to overcome the inhibitions in the journey of choosing the perfect stream so that they became the master of the career. The experts inspired & motivated the children to proceed forward towards their desired de without any second thought in mind.

To spread the wave of love for the tradition and culture of India and to spark the minds with rich affinity for diversified forms of classica l dances, School organized Spic Macay show that witnessed as enthralling performance by famous Odissi Dancer Padamshree Kiran Segal an exponent of the famous dance form of India presented the show with the disciples along with a group of three musicians. The enriching session conducted by the renowned dances began with lamp lighting ceremony followed by dance performance left everywhere engrossed in the different significant steps of Odissi Dance. The performer presented a wonderful piece of art and showed that the real India does lies in the rich tradition that we inherit from our ancestors. |

The competition was organized for Class III, with the purpose to cultivate among children ‘ healthy eating habits & habit of hand wash' . Again to aware the young minds about the environment, the other two topics they enacted were ‘ SAVING WATER & ELECTRICITY'
Class V & VI had ‘ War of Words' debating on the topic ‘Media is having negative impact on children'. The young debaters interacted very actively for & against the motion & concluded that Wise & Balanced use of Media will have certainly positive impact on children.

The School celebrated ‘William Shakespeare's Birthday & ‘ Earth Day by organizing a special assembly to highlight the works of the legend of English Literature & problems /issues related to our planet earth & discussed to keep check on them through some facts , poems & teacher's talk. The PowerPoint presentation to sensitize the children –How the face of the earth is being defaced & what we need to do to overcome them was shown in the classes. Again related to the topic poem recitation competition was held by class II students on the topic ‘ nature'

The School celebrated its 14th foundation day on 13th April. The occasion was graced by h'nable Chairman Sh. D. N. Arora & Ma'am Principal Mrs. Jyoti Arora. The celebration started with Ganesh Vandana followed by School song & founder's Day song. The young mapians enthrilled everyone with their spectacular dance performances that highlighted the culture of India. Chairman Sir and Principal Ma'am showered their blessings to the children and conveyed thanks to the parents through children for their cooperation to achieve heights of success where the School stands today and always look forward to their support to reach the milestones ahead. |
| Face to Face [Dancing Divas ] |

The new session began with Face to Face Dancing Divas presentation by our dance teacher Mr. Amit Kumar for the students of classes III-IV. The presentation depicted the “ War Dance” of Chhau. Chhau is glorious heritage of Mayurbhanj. The enlightened Kings of Maurbhanj like Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjideo and Pratap Chandra Bhanideo, one of the builders of Modern Orissa composed the famous “ War-Dance ” and presented the same in 1912 at Calcutta in honour of George V, the British emperor, who got dazed at the beauty and splendour of Mayurbhanj Chhau and appreciation were showered from the press and the elites. Elements of folk, tribal, martial, traditional classical art have been over into the grand mosiac of Mayurbhanj chhau. Thematically chhau draws sustantialy from great epics like the Ramayana, the Mahabharat and also from folk and tribal elements. The music accoompanying the dance has its own style which envigorates the soul. The grammar of Mayurbhanj chhau comprises six Chalis or Topka (basic steps) and 36 uflis (Jumping locmotion).These chalis & ulfis are called from rural house hold activities,behaviour of animals, and birds and war action. The visual poetry is the name of Mayurbhani Chhall.Set in a style that is free, intense,stormy, dynamic yet lyrical. The presentation was liked and appreciated by all.

| U.K. Delegates visit School |

Aiming at strengthening the bond between Indian and foreign schools by understanding the educational system and culture in each school, MAPS had the privilege of hosting the delegates Michele Bacen, Deputy Head teacher, WaidTecan High School and Philomena Noone, Incharge, Student Council, Waid Decan High School from United Kingdom. It was a great opportunity for the students and the faculty of the school to learn and share more about each other's system of education. Foreign Delegates were escorted by the Princiapl, Mrs. Jyoti Arora in India's Traditional way of arti, putting tilak and offering garland by the students. Immediately, after the formal welcome, the guests were escorted to attend a small cultural program that included our National Winning Folk Dance of Orissa- ‘Ranappa', Fashion Show and a dance performance by tiny tots. They observed the cultural program and were dazed to see the remarkable exemplary view that they started dancing along with the students as they could not resist the beats. Finally the guests were taken for a school round and interaction with the students to facilitate the better learning of Indian educational system –the blend of innovative methodology and the use of advanced technology. The school felt proud when it received the words of appreciation from the guest for all the efforts and innovation it is making in the field of Education.

| Special Assembly |

Yet another new session of our school began with great excitement and gusto. Students with their shining faces entered the premises of the school to face the new challenges with all passion and fortitude. As is the custom of the school the day began with a special assembly and small Havan ceremony in the esteemed presence of Honorable Chairman Sir Sh. D.N Arora , Principal, Mrs . Jyoti Arora, all the teachers and students of classes VI-XII. The same was then followed by words of inspiration by the principal of the school where she congratulated students for their success in the previous year and motivated them for their hard work in more success in the future years. This small ceremonial welcome of the students in the new session closed with the National Anthem and Prasad distribution ceremony.
