SCHEME OF EXAMINATION & EVALUATION

Grade VI - VIII

Theory

  • May Test
  • Periodic Assessment-1

Periodic Assessment-1

• The evaluation will be conducted for 40 marks
• Internal assessment of Notebook (5 Marks) Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks) & Experiential Project Assessment (10 Marks) will be added.
• 25% of entire syllabus will be covered in the aforesaid examination
• Duration of exam will be 1.30 hour.
• No preparatory leaves will be scheduled.

Half Yearly
• The evaluation will be conducted for 80 marks
• Internal assessment of Notebook (5 Marks) & Portfolio (5 Marks) will be added.
• 50% of entire syllabus will be covered in the aforesaid examination
• Duration of exam will be 3 hours.
• Preparatory leaves will be scheduled.

Periodic Assessment- 2
• The evaluation will be conducted for 40 marks
• Internal assessment of Notebook (5 Marks) Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks) & Inter -Disciplinary Project (10 Marks) will be added.
• 75% of entire syllabus will be covered in the aforesaid examination
• Duration of exam will be 1.30 hour.
• No preparatory leaves will be scheduled.

Annual Examination
• The evaluation will be conducted for 80 marks
• Internal assessment of Notebook (5 Marks) & Portfolio (5 Marks) will be added.
• 100% of entire syllabus will be covered in the aforesaid examination
• Duration of exam will be 3 hours.
• 100% syllabus will be covered in the Annual Examination.
• Preparatory leaves will be scheduled.

 

Grade IX & X

  • May Test in the month of May , which will carry 20 marks
    Theory (Weightage 80%)
  • Periodic Assessment-1
  • Half Yearly (Periodic Assessment-2)
  • Pre-Board Examination 1(Grade 10)
  • Periodic Assessment-3 (Grade 9)
  • Pre-Board Examination 2(Grade 10)
  • Mock Annual (Grade 9)

Internal Assessment (Weightage 20%)

  • Periodic marks reduced to 5% weightage
  • Portfolio -5%
  • Subject Enrichment -5%
  • Multiple Assessment- 5%
  • Letter grades (5 points scale) will be given in the following areas of learning:
    Work Education
    Art Education (Visual and Performing Arts)
    Health and Physical Education (HPE)
  • Points will also be given for attendance, behaviour etc.
  • Health Physical Education activities will be conducted as per the CBSE guidelines.
  • Subject enrichment for science and Artificial Intelligence includes practicals.
  • In compliance with NEP 2020, AIL (Art Integrated Learning) and SIL (Sports Integrated Learning) activities will be conducted and assessed under subject enrichment.

First Periodic Test
• First periodic will be conducted in the month of July
• 30% of entire syllabus will be assessed
• It will be of 40 marks
• Duration of the examination would be 1:30 hour.

Second Periodic Test
• Second periodic will be conducted in the month of September.
• 60% of syllabus(including syllabus of Perodic -1)will be assessed
• It will be of 80 marks
• Duration of the examination would be 3 hours.

Third Periodic Test/ Pre-Board (X)
• Third periodic will be conducted in the month of December.
• Remaining 40% of the syllabus will be assessed for grade IX(100% for grade X)
• It will be of 40 marks for grade IX and 80 marks for grade X
• Duration of the examination would be 1:30 hour(IX) 3 hours (X)

Mock Annual Examination (IX)/ Pre-Board -2(X)
• It will be held in the month of January- February..
• 100% of the syllabus will be assessed for grade IX & X
• Examination will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Duration of the examination would be 3 hours.

Annual Examination(IX)

• It will be held in the month of February - March
• 100% of the syllabus will be assessed
• Examination will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Duration of the examination would be 3 hours.
• Revision classes will be held after each examination and regular school timing will be followed on examinations days.


Grade XI & XII

  • May Test Series
  • July Test Series
  • Half Yearly Examintion
  • Mock Pre-Board Examination, December Test Series
  • Pre-Board Examination, Mock Annual
  • Annual Examination

May Test Series (XII)

First test series of XII will be conducted in the month of May.
• 30% syllabus will be assessed
• Duration of the examination would be 2 hours.

July Test Series XI -XII/ December Test Series XI

Second test series of XII will be conducted in the month of July.
• 30% syllabus will be assessed.
First test series of XI will be conducted in the month of July.
• 30% syllabus will be assessed.
Second test series of XI will be conducted in the month of December
• 30% syllabus will be assessed.
• Duration of the test series will be 2 hours for both the grades

Half Yearly Examination
• It will be conducted in the month of September for grade XI, XII.
• Remaining 40% syllabus will be assessed for XII.
• 50% syllabus will be assessed for XI.
• Duration of the examination will be as per CBSE guidelines for each academic elective for both the grades

Mock Pre-Board Examination(XII)

• It will be conducted in the month of December
• 100% syllabus will be assessed for grade XII.
• Duration of the examination will be as per CBSE guidelines for each academic elective for both the grades

Pre-Board(XII) & Mock Annual Examination(XI)

• Pre-Board for grade XII and Mock Annual for grade XI will be in the month of January
• 100% syllabus will be assessed for grade XI, XII.
• Duration of the examination will be as per CBSE guidelines for each academic elective for both the grades


Annual Examination (Grade XI)

• it will be conducted in the month of February
• 100% syllabus will be assessed for grade XI.
• Duration of the examination will be as per CBSE guidelines for each academic elective for both the grades

Letter grades will be given in the following areas of learning on a five point scale

  • Work Experience
  • General Studies
  • Health and Physical Education
  • HPE(Health and Physical Education) activities will be conducted as per the CBSE guidelines and notification (Subject to change as per CBSE Guidelines)

 

Note: Learners who have not appeared for First Test series will be awarded average marks on the basis of the term end examination  of that term. Those who missed the second test series will be given an average mark on the basis of term end examination of that term. This will be subject to:

  • Medical certificate from the registered government medical practitioner
  • In case the child is representing school in a competition
  • Late joining during the session
  • Any other emergency

Awards

At Mount Abu School , we believe in celebrating all  our learners achievements. In order to do this, we have launched a new system called HONOUR POINTS in which learners will be awarded points for positive actions and achievements. The honour points are reflected in the academic report on regular basis and learners securing highest number of achievements points are then awarded on the Appreciation Day Assemblies. It is a point based system to reward learners for positive behaviour and actions which includes Continuous and Comprehensive 360 degree Evaluation.

SCHOLASTIC

GRADE VI-VIII

  • 5 overall toppers
  • Section Toppers 1st, 2nd and 3rd position
  • Subject Proficiency across all subjects

GRADE IX-X

  • 5 overall toppers
  • Section Toppers 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position
  • Subject Proficiency across all subjects
  • Subject proficiency for additional /skill subject will be awarded if he or she has scored minimum 75% in that subject

GRADE XI

  • Overall proficiency will be awarded stream wise to learners scoring a minimum 75% in the aggregate for the academic session
  • Section proficiency(Toppers 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position) to learners scoring a minimum 75% in the aggregate.
  • Subject proficiency will be awarded if he or she has scored a minimum 75%
  • Differently abled learners will also be awarded for subject proficiency in the category of CWSN, refuse she has scored a minimum 70% in the subject.

Academic Competitions
Learners will be awarded for the following achievements:

  • National rank under 100 for all Government recognised /registered competitions
  • Positions secured in various Olympiads

Proficiency Awards
A medal and a certificate will also be awarded to all the students scoring 100% marks in any of the subjects offered by  CBSE in grade X and grade XII
The learners should meet the criteria to claim the gold medals under various categories for proficiency awards

  • International Level
  • National Level
  • State Level
  • District Level
  • Intra School Level

These representations will be reviewed by a committee at different levels, and then the final list of awardees will be declared.

Performance In Literacy/Cultural/Art/Music/Dance(from Government Recognised/ Registered Organisations )

Learners will be felicitated for achievement/participation at International  /National/State Level as per the school policy

Performance in the Field of Sports
Learners will be awarded for the following achievements in the field of sports

  • First, second and third position, individual or group at national/international level
  • First second and third position, individual or group at state level including CBSE northwest zone cluster level
  • Participation at international/national level

OPEN HOUSE
An Open House/ Parent Teacher Meeting(PTM) is conducted between the parents and educators to discuss learners progress at school and find solutions to academic or behavioural concern.
