CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct, they are the matters of education and like most great things, and one must cultivate a taste for them.’ – Benjamin Disraeli.

Recognizing the vital role in spreading cleanliness awareness and implementation, Mount Abu Public school undertook the Cleanliness Drive under which the global citizens of grades IX to XII visited the slum area to spread the message of awareness among the slum dwellers, that cleanliness is next to godliness, by way of sensitizing and educating the children, youth and aged people living in the slums area on various aspects of cleanliness and societal values.  The global citizens and Green Ambassadors of grades VI to VIII also participated in the cleanliness of the immediate vicinity of the school. The learners participated ardently in the cleanliness drive and understood that maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality by keeping clean externally and internally. It is everybody's responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic.

 

MOUNT ABU’S COMMUNITY KITCHEN

School’s  learners, educators & families from all grades participated enthusiastically in serving food to the needy. Everyone contributed by bringing the raw material for Community Kitchen. Educators, support staff & learners extended help in chopping & cooking the meal. It was a wonderful way to celebrate festivities and imbibe the spirit of service before self and spread the essence of kindness far and wide.

 

VISIT TO ASHA KIRAN SCHOOL

To mark International Literacy Day, a team comprising of the Global Citizens of our school and officials from the National Book Trust Govt of India visited Asha Kiran School to present an impressive collection of books.

 

ZERO WASTE SCHOOL

Bins made from Plastic Waste installed at Mount Abu School.

A total of 25 kg plastic, specifically 5000 bottle caps have been recycled to make these bins. Gratitude to Green Dream Foundation & Jindal Stainless Foundation for supporting us in our journey towards being a Zero Waste School. Kudos to Action Committee of Unaided Pvt Schools for leading Project Shunya in schools across Delhi NCR. We are well aware that in present times, technology and gadgets take up most of our time. Technology infact has got us all hooked to screens in the form of television, laptops, mobile screens, tablets and more. Other than screens, household appliances run on batteries or electricity as well. Once obsolete, these Electronic Waste (E-Waste) are mixed in trash causing great harm to Environment. Mount Abu Public School collaborated with Green Foundation to ensure effective disposal and recycling of E waste.A set of specially designed bins have been installed at the school exit gates to put their E waste which will be collected by the Green Foundation team to ensure its disposal in an eco friendly way. The Little effort from each one of us will make a big difference.

 

#ACTION4MASKS PROJECT

The school also initiated the #Action4Masks movement wherein the students family members and support staff are involved in making masks for free distribution to the people. Through these contributions, the school is trying its bit to help the society to bear the brunt of COVID-19. The class four employees and house keeping staff is also engaged in mask making for free distribution to the public at large.

 

PRODUCTION OF 3D PRINTED PROTECTIVE FACE SHIELDS

The school opened up its Atal Tinkering Lab to its Alumni & in-house school carpenter to produce Protective Face Shields using 3D Printing Technology. First lot of protective face shields were given to Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital which is one of the COVID-19 centres. Second lot is being produced for police officials. The school was one of the first few schools in India to set up ATL Tinkering Lab, under Niti Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission. ATL Lab at Mount Abu Public School has witnessed various innovations but this one is special because of severity of current challenging times. One of the school alumni came up with the idea to produce 3D printed protective face shields and he required 3D printing technology for same. The school principal facilitated remote assistance to alumnus by group of students and staff. Technical assistance was provided by ATL Lab’s Industrial Training Partner StemRobo and 3Dexter. The production of face shields in times of crisis is a perfect example of involving every member of the school community. The school community is further contributing its bit to the frontline workers.

 

STUDENT LEADS IN CHARITY

9 years old Manan of Mount Abu Public School has donated 5,000 to #PMCares. He had saved money to buy a bicycle but thought of contributing to fight against Coronavirus. The school salutes the spirit of Manan for contributing his saving.

 

HAND SANITIZER MAKING

The school, being a proactive member of the society took a serious note of the situation and acted promptly to the prevailing conditions even before the lockdown was finally declared by the Government. In its endeavor to be in the service of the society, the student members of school enterprise challenge took the noble responsibility of making of hand sanitizers and its free distribution to the people for helping them in coping up with the problem at the earliest.

 

EFFORTS TO COMBAT SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS

Underprivileged sections of the society are most vulnerable to the global outbreak of Corona virus. Team “एक आस एक प्रयास” of Mount Abu School collected Soaps & Tissue papers from students & staff and donated them to underprivileged people. The team also taught people about the right way to wash hands. Importance of covering mouth during sneezing and coughing was also discussed.

Together we can fight this outbreak.

 

DONATION OF WOOLENS TO GOONJ

Every year in winter, people die of cold, homeless people, migrant laborers and people living in far flung hilly terrain villages of India are the worst affected. So, we at Mount Abu Public School took the campaign- "ODHA DO ZINDAGI" with GOONJ (NGO) and donated woollens and blankets on 3rd  January 2020.

 

DONATION OF SHOES TO UNPRIVILEGED CHILDREN UNDER EK AAS EK PRAYAS

Friendship is all about walking together.

What better way to celebrate Christmas by sharing happiness?Students donated pairs of shoes for underprivileged children to mark their Christmas as a happier one on 24th December 2019. Bata, leading shoes brand, gifted a pair of socks to each donor.

 

MOUNT ABU TOUCH: SIGNATURE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM

In order to contribute to the society, the school has shown its  the noble responsibility by installing the 3D modules in one of the school bus purely for the cause of educating the children  in the nearby slum areas .The bus will move around the slum areas in the vicinity and spend a quality time educating the children by showing them the diverse 3D modules on different aspects like science and Mathematics   It will create more opportunities for those less privileged and help them gain more with little .This initiative is another gem that will enhance the luminosity of the school with which it  brings shine on the faces of the children who possess millions of ideas to explore and discover.

 

TREE PLANTATION

A small contribution of Mount Abu School Family to fight against pollution.

To protect the environment for future generation, teachers of the School, planted more than 100 plants in a park near Sector -18 Rohini. Staff also promoted car pooling and public transport usage during these days, as a small gesture to fight against deadly pollution when Delhi air is towards emergency. The school strongly believes and urges to every citizen of the country to do a bit to protect environment. 

 

CLEAN YAMUNA CAMPAIGN SHUCHI YAMUNA

Cleanliness is very important in our lives from all the aspects. With the aim to sensitize and create awareness to keep our holy rivers clean, the Swachhta Ambassadors of class IX volunteered for the Clean Yamuna Campaign on 11th Nov. 19 at Sonia Vihar Ghat, Delhi. The students cleaned the allotted areas near the ghat with great enthusiasm and tried their best to evoke the sense of responsibility among the people as their duty towards the environment. It was a great learning experience to perform our duty as an awakened citizen to stop water pollution.

 

WORKSHOP CONDUCTED ON HEALTH AND CLEANLINESS

A workshop of drivers and maids was conducted on the topic "Health and Cleanliness" on 13 September 2019. They were told about the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. Various topics were discussed like washing of clothes, cutting of nails and consuming healthy and covered food etc. They were told to wear loose footwear to avoid fungal infections. They were also explained the importance of bathing and washing clothes regularly. They were even told to maintain cleanliness around them. At the end there was shown a small video showcasing a story of a boy who was l and was sharing the ways to maintain hygiene. Thus the session was quite interactive.

 

ROTI BANK - ANOTHER NOBLE STEP IN SERVING THE SOCIETY

Under the School’s noble initiative of Roti Bank, the students distributed stuffed roti to the underprivileged on 18 February 2019. The students brought the stuffed roti, rolled and wrapped in a foil. The rotis were collected and distributed by the lead team members in the school’s vicinity. The students were blessed by the needy people.

 

INDIAN ROTI BANK FOUNDER VISITS MOUNT ABU SCHOOL

The founder of Indian Roti Bank  founder, Mr. Vikram Pandey, visited the school on 8 Feb 2019  and spread the wave of humanity all around. He explained to the students, his motive behind such  noble initiative and motivated the children to contribute their bit for uplifting the underprivileged. He also talked about his teams in different parts of India, presently in eleven states, who are actively contributing to the cause with their unrelenting effort in helping that section of the society  which is the most needed one  and his vision to expand the teams in rest of  India  too. He appreciated the school for its ROTI BANK ENDEAVOR under its community service initiative. The children showed a great enthusiasm in listening to his words and pledged to contribute to the society in whatever way they can .

The students of Mount Abu Public School distributed stuffed Roti to the needy around the vicinity of the school, under the school’s initiative of Roti Bank, on 4th February 2019. The huge contribution collected today, was appreciated by the principal. 

 

ROTI BANK - ANOTHER NOBLE STEP IN SERVING THE SOCIETY

Under the school’s initiative of ROTI BANK, on 28th January 2019, the students of Mount Abu Public School distributed stuffed Roti to the needy and underprivileged. The students brought the stuffed Roti rolled and wrapped in a foil. The collected Rotis were distributed by the members of lead team, the same afternoon during lunch hours, to the destitute people in the school’s neighbouring area.

 

EK AAS EK PRAYAS.. A NOBLE INITIATIVE

Under the school’s noble initiative, Ek Aas Ek Prayas, this month the students collected woolen socks, gloves and caps. The collection was distributed on 28th January 2019 among the underprivileged people. Students got an opportunity to lend a helping hand to the needs of underprivileged ones. The act of giving made the students glow with joy as a little contribution from their side to the needy.

 

ROTI BANK - ANOTHER NOBLE STEP IN SERVING THE SOCIETY

Under the initiative, ROTI BANK of the school, the children distributed STUFFED ROTI/PARANTHA to the underprivileged and contributed their bit to serve the society on 14 January 2019. The day coincided with MAKAR SANKRANTI, an auspicious day to serve good for others according to Hindu Mythology. This is another form of community service that the school is involved into for helping the needy. The children brought ROTI/STUFFED PARANTHA rolled and wrapped in a foil and the lead team of the school distributed the same to the needy people in the vicinity. The Principal appreciated the concern shown by the children and parents in this regard.

 

DONATION OF WOOLENS BY MAPIANS

In another charity move, the school carried forward the initiative of Hindustan Times to help the needy people of the society The students donated woolen clothes for the sake of underprivileged section of the society. This initiative launched by Godrej in association with Hindustan Times Newspaper organization motivated all to come forward and work for the cause and thus it witnessed the collection of huge number of woolens. It is a clear reflection of the ideology of the children to think about others and  share with others, what they already have.

 

EK AAS EK PRAYAS.. A NOBLE INITIATIVE

"The measure of life is not it's duration but it's donation"  
 Following this Students of Mount Abu Public school have taken an initiative under the project of Community Services Ek Aas Ek Prayas. They collected packets of grains and donated it on 31.12 18 to the people of rural area in Delhi.It was a matter of immense pleasure for them as they believe in sharing and caring.

 

CHARITY AT MAPS

MAPS strongly advocates the fact that toys are extremely significant for the holistic development of a child and therefore the school works vigorously in providing toys and story books to the underprivileged children through Toy Bank. This way  not only  the underprivileged children are assisted but also the values of sharing and caring are inculcated in the young generation. The school was awarded with a glittering trophy and Letter of appreciation for its commendable effort by the Toy Bank at India International Centre in a felicitation ceremony for the active contribution to the noble cause.

 

EK AAS EK PRAYAS….. A NOBLE INITIATIVE

The school has initiated a noble initiative   EK AAS EK PRAYAS wherein the children will  get an opportunity to get  sensitized about the society and   its needs especially the under privileged ones Through this initiative ,the children will  involve themselves in the noble cause  by donating one item on monthly basis which will vary according to the selected theme .It will further  motivate them to think beyond their lives and live for others .The topics  will vary from month to month e.g. the theme of this month is “EK MUTHTHI DAAL  and EK MUTHTHI CHAWAL”. This initiative is superb step to let children get sensitized towards benefitting others through their small effort.

 

SAVE PROGRAMME BY HELPAGE INDIA

An Awareness and Sponsorship Programme by HelpAge India was conducted on 30 November 2018 at Mount Abu School for the students of Classes VII, VIII, IX and XI in the school premises. The HelpAge’s SAVE- Student Action for Value Education Programme was to sensitize the children on ageing issues early in life so that they treat their elderly with love and care as well as understand their issues. A video was exhibited to discuss the various programmes of cancer care, SAGP, mobile healthcare, eye care and old age homes under HepAge India. The students were encouraged to spend quality time with their grandparents at home, care and respect them. 

 

Charity at MAPS

To give warmth and happiness to the needy, the school in association with Goonj an NGO took the initiative as partner of the program “ODHA DO ZINDAGI” through motivating the parents to contribute their used woolen clothes in good condition and stationary items from 18th Feb to 23rd Feb. On 18th Feb on The Parent Day Celebration, the parents contributed generously the things they were asked for. The collected material will be handed over to the organization for the benefit to those who deserve. We thank the parents for their whole hearted cooperation. 

 

MOUNT ABU PUBLIC SCHOOL joins hands with EACH ONE, REACH ONE AND TEACH ONE

The school feels proud to be associated with the Rotary club. Under this project , every student will be involved in teaching an illiterate adult for 30 minutes every day so that the lights of knowledge can reach far and wide. The project aims at teaching every citizen of the country so that the basic objective of the campaign “ EACH ONE, REACH ONE AND TEACH ONE” can be achieved. A simple test to assess the basic understanding of the concepts will be undertaken and a certificate for the same will be provided by the Government of India. We are optimistic that the mission of making India literate will be accomplished and together we will be able to eradicate the problem of adult literacy.

 

GIVE IT UP CAMPAIGN

The School got the privilege to see the noble initiative of the students of Venketeshwar Colle ge running a campaign to promote the Govt. of India's initiative to help the poor by requesting the people to give up the subsidy offered on LPG Gas Cyllinders. The students presented a street play, highlighted the desired need to do the same so the life of unpreviledged can be streamlined to some extent. The children of the school will give a bond of "Give it up" and have asked to spreadthe message to help it reach the target

 

Visit to Old Age Home

On the occasion of Foundation Day of the school, Mount Abu Public School Sector 5 Rohini organized a visit to old age home to sensitize the children towards being humane .The children of class X visited the place in Kanjhavala wherein they personally interacted with the senior citizens and had a healthy discussion about the life style and personal grooming .The children took the initiative to serve food to them which was purely on the voluntary basis .The old community felt very delighted to see the interest of the students and their caring attitude towards them. Some refreshment was given to the well deserving members of the community, the senior and most respected members who play a vital role in the society.

 

Toy Donation Campaign

To sensitize the students about the needs of the underprivileged children a toy donation campaign was held in which old and new toys were collected and given to a NGO named TOY BANK. This effort was made to bring a smile on the faces of those innocent kids who have been deprived of the simple pleasure and joy to play grows with toys.

Considering the needs of the children in slum areas the school took a step forward towards sanitation by collecting RS. 10 per student and raising the fund for building a toilet in MCD School

 

ROTARY CLUB AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF MAPS

When it comes to literacy,MAPIANS leave no stone unturned. Students as a part of Rotary Club engaged themselves along with the school peons, bus drivers, gardeners and various other social servants to prove the same. A literacy class was organized wherein these participants learnt Simple English Grammar Rules , Hindi Grammar Rules and Basic Mathematics Tools and several other activities through the literacy kit being already provided to these students. The session proved to be a great success and we look forward to spread literacy in every corner of the world.

 

SWACHH BAWANA PROJECT

To sensitize the students about the basic needs of the society, MAPIANS had participated in Swachh Bawana Project, wherein students did community services by cleaning and renovating a park in Bawana under the guidance of NAVJYOTI INDIA FOUNDATION and MCD. This effort was made to aware local people about the importance of keeping their environment hygienic and healthy for better living. On January 1, 2015 DR. KIRAN BEDI inaugurated the park and appreciated the efforts of the team of Mount Abu Public School to come forward and responsible to serve for the humanity.
